The City of Millbrook Parks and Recreation Department was established in 1997 with three parks and one rental building and now has seven parks and three rental buildings.
Memorial Center Park is a 15- acre park complex that is home to the Village Green, an open recreation area that serves as a gathering place for family outings, barbecues, craft fairs and concerts. Surrounding the green is a tree-lined, ¼ mile lighted walking trail. There is also a covered stage for entertainment and the beautiful Leyburn Memorial Gazebo, which has served as a setting for many weddings. Mill Creek, with its footbridges over the creek, links the Village Green to the Kids Kingdom, a custom designed playground built by volunteers. The complex also contains the Community (Memorial) Center. The remainder of the complex is home to the Millbrook Girls Softball League.
Mill Creek Sports Complex is a new-state-of the art baseball facility. The park has six baseball fields and two batting cages with more to come in the future. The complex is home to the Millbrook Dixie Youth Baseball League. The park also features a ½ mile walking trail.
Legacy Park is an eight-acre complex with a ½ mile walking trail. It serves as a practice facility for the Millbrook Mustangs. It also has a rental building and a pavilion.
Robinson Springs Park is three-acre park featuring an underground spring and a fountain. A gazebo is available to rent for weddings, birthday parties or picnics.
Millbrook Civic Center, located at 3168 Park Circle, is a new-state-of the art facility which can accommodate 286 people for banquets, meeting, weddings and conferences. It has a full kitchen, public address system and internet access.
The City has three buildings available, which may be rented for use by civic clubs, neighborhood associations, individuals, etc. The Memorial Center on Park Circle has been renovated and is available for rent. Millbrook Mustangs Youth Football and Cheerleading
The Millbrook Youth Football League (The Millbrook Mustangs), established in 1969, is the oldest operating Youth Football and Cheerleading League in the Millbrook area.
The Mustangs, with God as our guide, are focused on teaching our kids the fundamentals of Football and Cheerleading, growing good sportsmen and sportswomen, and instilling a winning attitude. To accomplish this at an age-appropriate level we have four different divisions, Midgets (ages 5 & 6), Crickets (ages 7 & 8), Termites (ages 9 & 10) and Peewee’s (ages 11 & 12).
Practices are held at our facility located at Legacy Park in Millbrook, AL and are normally held from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays Practice traditionally begins on the third Monday of July.
Our home games are played at Foshee-Henderson Stadium and usually begin on the first weekend in September. The Millbrook Mustangs (MYFL) are proud members of The Central Alabama Youth Football League (CAYFL), which is comprised of 10 teams all of whom play in the Montgomery area. The CAYFL follows a modified version of the Alabama High School Athletic Association rules and regulations.
The Millbrook Mustangs have a very long and proud tradition. Many of our coaches have college and professional playing experience. Come join our winning team, you can find us on Facebook as well as our web site www.millbrookmustangs.net
