Garbage Service Issues

The City of Millbrook is receiving complaints and questions about changes in garbage service and we hope this will clear up some confusion. Elmore County has changed garbage services from Waste Management (WM) to Arrow Disposal Service Inc. (ADSI) Therefore, Elmore County residents will now be Arrow Disposal Service customers. However, if your address is located within the city limits of Millbrook you will remain a Waste Management customer.

Much of the confusion is WM and ADSI do not have their service addresses labeled correctly to distinguish which addresses are located inside the City of Millbrook and which addresses are located in Elmore County. Millbrook has not changed garbage services, but lots of City of Millbrook residences have received ADSI cans and/or an ADSI bill by mistake. Most residences are calling WM and ADSI and being told by both services that neither service will service their area.

Waste Management has contracted with a third-party company to retrieve WM cans for addresses that are no longer their customers. We fear we will have the same problems with the third-party company. WM has assured us as the third-party company is picking up cans they (WM) will have teams on standby around the city to replace cans taken by mistake.

Due to all of the confusion, it may not help to call WM or ADSI directly if you experience an error in service. The best thing to do is to call Millbrook City Hall at (334) 285-6428. We will contact WM and ADSI directly for you. Please provide your name, address, phone number, and a brief description of the problem when you call.

We apologize for these problems and are working hard to get everything corrected as soon as possible.
